Talking “The Walking Dead:” Season 2 Finale

I can’t wait for the finale this Sunday night.  Although the best thing that could have happened this season, has already happened for me; Shane getting killed.  It was ever more sweet that it was Rick who killed him.  Talk about justice.  I have tried putting myself inside Rick’s mind however, just to imagine what it would have been like to have been in his position.  I must say, that would be one of the hardest decisions a person could ever have to make.  The fact that he and Shane were great friends and partners on the police force, before the massive zombie attack, must have made it especially difficult.  To have to kill a man who used to be somebody you relied on, literally trusted with your life, would be torture on ones psyche.  But, just as Rick said to Shane as he stabbed him to death, “You made me do this!  You did this Shane, not me!”  In the end, it was ultimately “kill or be killed” for Rick, so he had no choice if he wanted to live for his family.

This series has been awesome and this season has been even better than the first.  It basically has everything a person could ask for in a TV show.  It’s got action, thrills, suspense, mystery, horror, violence, and drama.  Plus it has elements which remain unanswered that everyone has been curious about since the opening episode, at least I have been.  The big question has been ”Why and how, did this happen?  What occurred to make the dead walk again?”  Movies in the past have used the idea of nuclear waste getting into the ground, and finally into the bodies of the dead once they’re buried, but I don’t think this show is going to go that route with it.  I believe they have come up something nobody will be expecting and it will surprise us all.  I hope so anyway, since I’ve been building in excitement all this time now.
